As a Product Development Engineer at Delta Water Engineering, you will play a key role in the design, development, and validation of new products, as well as the improvement of existing ones. Market & Product Analysis:
- Collaborate with Product Management on market and competitor research to identify needs and trends.
- Evaluate new technologies and define technical requirements.
- Create product concepts and functional prototypes using CAD tools.
- Support Voice-of-Customer activities and identify improvements in existing products.
Product Development:
- Assess feasibility and impact of new features or products.
- Define specifications based on market and customer needs.
- Design, model, and prototype components using CAD software.
- Test and validate performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Ensure design aligns with DfM/DfA principles and quality standards.
- Deliver technical documentation for production and assembly.
You will interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (Sales&Product Mgt/Purchasing and Production/Group R&D/suppliers…). You will report to the Operations Manager as part of the Engineering Department.
Profile
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical).
- You have at least a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial setting with a solid background in mechanical design, hydraulics, and product engineering. Knowledge of water treatment technologies is a strong advantage.
- You are proficient in CAD/CAM software, preferably SolidWorks and have a proven experience in project management.
- You approach challenges with energy and a sharp analytical mindset, enabling you to identify issues quickly and develop effective solutions.
- You take ownership, showing curiosity and initiative to drive projects independently.
- You communicate clearly and confidently, adapting your style to ensure effective collaboration with diverse audiences. You are fluent in Dutch and English. French is a plus.
